Puerto Ayora is a town located on Santa Cruz Island. It was named in honour of Isidro Ayora, a president of Ecuador. Its main highlights are kayaking in Tortuga Bay, where you can see a diversity of marine wildlife, snorkeling in Las Grietas crevasse, and exploring the highlands by bicycle. You can visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and find out about the island's ecosystems and also watch the tortoises kept there. Wildlife can be spotted everywhere here, from parks and roads, to markets: pelicans, sea lions and marine iguanas.
