The Peace Asylum is a 450m high hill located on Floreana Island, rich in historical value, as it is the settlement of the first colonists of the islands. The pirate cave they lived in is still standing and is on private property nowadays. Its name comes from general Jose Villamil, who wanted to colonize the archipelago and make it a place of peace. You can enjoy a landscape of luxuriant green vegetation and spectacular views of the surrounding hills and of the Pacific Ocean. It is also a great snorkerling site, where you can swim along with marine turtles and sea lions.
