Guy Fawkes Island, located northwest of Santa Cruz Island, is actually comprised of four small rock formations, with volcanic origin. The island's name is said to derive from Guy Fawkes, the man who, in 1605, was at the origin of the Gunpowder Plot. It is a very popular diving site, due to the large number of kaleidoscopic zoanthids you can see here. You can also spot king angelfish, parrotfish, butterflyfish and puffers. The waters are calm and visibility is good. The island is home to a population of sea lions, and you will often see them joining you.
